We are currently seeking passionate, skilled, and historically dedicated individuals to join Liberty Village. If you have an interest in bringing our founding stories to life through history, we welcome you to apply to be a part of our team! You will participate in a variety of reenactments, live events, and demonstrations portraying everyday colonial figures.

We are looking for individuals who embody the following roles:
George Washington
James Madison
John Adams

Key Responsibilities:

Activity Leadership:
Use age-appropriate language and storytelling techniques to capture the children’s attention and promote an engaging learning experience.
Organize the space and materials for each session, ensuring a safe, fun, and historically themed environment.

Historical Interpretation:
Dress in period-appropriate attire and embody the role of a colonial educator to enhance the children’s immersive experience.
Share historical stories, facts, and characters in an interactive and fun manner to help children understand the cultural, social, and daily life of 18th-century America.

Program Organization and Logistics:
Manage the preparation and setup of program specific materials, and spaces for each session.
Ensure that all supplies, tools, and resources are available and in good condition prior to each session.
Keep track of attendance and communicate with parents and caregivers about upcoming activities, ensuring a smooth program flow.

Engagement and Communication:
Build strong relationships with children and their caregivers, creating a warm, welcoming environment for families.
Encourage active participation and foster a sense of curiosity and excitement about history in young learners.
Work with parents, volunteers, and staff members to provide feedback and suggestions for program improvement.
The ability to tell stories in an engaging way.
Safety and Supervision:
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during the program, maintaining a watchful and attentive presence.
Follow all safety guidelines and protocols when using tools, materials, or engaging in physical activities.

Requirements:
Time period appropriate costume and makeup is required for all reenactors.
A background in reenacting is preferred.
A strong knowledge of history

Experience: Previous reenactment, acting, or historical knowledge is preferred but not required. Strong enthusiasm for the colonial era is essential.

Work Environment:
The work environment is dynamic, with responsibilities that require flexibility and the ability to adapt to varying conditions and schedules.
The position involves working both outdoors and indoors, depending on the location of activities.
The position may require physical activity, such as standing, kneeling, or assisting children with crafts or games.
Must be able to lift and set-up materials for events.
Flexible schedule, with availability to work weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.

Requirements:

Sit, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms
Ability to kneel and squat
Frequently lift and or move up to 10 pounds. Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in different climate conditions to include heat and cold.
Ability to pass a background check and drug test
Specific vision abilities required to do this job include, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth prescription and ability to adjust focus.
